About me

I have been a professional freelance translator working from French, Italian, and Spanish into English (my native language) for over 20 years. Prior to becoming a freelance translator, I was a professor of mass communication with a teaching and research focus on international and intercultural communication. My communication background has helped me to become a highly effective writer able to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner. Working and living in many different cultural settings across the globe has given me an essential sensitivity to cultural nuances that I use to adapt your translations to your intended purpose and audience.

My vision

The Great Lakes region of the United States is one of the largest business hubs in North America. The area is home to a highly diverse range of businesses, from heavy industry to IT and cultural production. Moreover, as an inland sea in the heart of North America, the region provides easy access to the entire continent.

I chose my company name, Inland Sea Language Services, for our unique location in the Great Lakes region and because I work with Mediterranean languages (French, Italian, and Spanish). Like water, business should flow across borders effortlessly through a strong understanding of the cultural nuances that underlie all exchanges.
